Caroll's NOT at Melbourne Wood Show 2015
After long deliberation and chatting to a lot of people we have decided not to be part of the Melbourne Wood Show 2015.
As most would know this new date clashes with other events that we have attended for many years and have decided that we will support those that have supported us.
We will be at the Phillip Island down Under Turnaround on the weekend 11-13th of September and then on the weekend of the 26-27th of September we will be at the Ballarat woodworkers show where we will have all the goodies we normally have at the Wood show..
We look forward to catching up with you all at the Ballarat Show.Jim Carroll

Sorry to hear that Jim but fully understand the position you have been forced into.
The 2 stands that have held my attention (and wallet) for the last few years have been Carolls and U-Beaut. With both absent this year I think I'll be making other plans as well.
See you both at another venue.Dave

Jim, Tough call to make. You have to go where your real customers will be and what the financial bottom line dictates. Having been involved in similar events, as a promoter, an exhibitor and as a customer, I know what goes on behind the scenes. It seems the interests of the promoters these days do not necessarily align with what is best for their clients.

Jim you haven't been at any of the shows this year! I can assure you all these decisions are not made lightly, and EVERYONE is considered in all aspects! It doesn't seem what we do in Melbourne it isn't good enough for you................can't win!!

Just like you did two years ago when you moved to Jeff's Shed at short notice. I asked a simple question about where I could park my trailer and you had no idea. And it took ages to come up with any sort of meaningful solution. How can you say you consider everyone in all aspects?
As I posted earlier in the other thread I think taking it to Caulfield was a good idea, but why not check up to see what was already on the weekend you were moving it to instead of clashing with a well-established event on the woodworking calendar? That's hardly considering EVERYONE in all aspects either, is it?
Cheers

We have decided to give all the interstate trips a miss year, Costs of getting to the shows getting too expensive and return from the shows diminishing.
We had pencilled in Melbourne but due to the date change it clashes with another event we have been doing for 16 years so they get first preferance.
We will be at the Ballarat show 2 weeks later with all our goodies .Jim Carroll

Hi Guys I do get it...............shame some of you don't. We have provided space on the floor for the forum, up until recently paid for furnishing, walls, catering and gave you a discount to attend the show. It's a shame about Carrolls and U beaut but guys they haven't booked any shows this year, and you know, we have helped both of those companies over past years. Just to let know we are not big bad organisers -we do care!
Doug, we did listen to you re parking and you will recall we had maps and parking instructions on our web as soon as we had the information.
There was no other date available at Caulfield!
Unfortunately in life you can't please everyone and decisions have to be made for the benefit of the majority, and on occasions those decision impact negatively on some individuals or companies, it not something we are pleased about but we had no alternative.....we have had 100% support and understanding from all exhibitors who had booked the show prior to the change.
