That is a monster of a mortiser but that little dovetail machine would be nice.

This is the first direct drive L S Barker bandsaw I've seen in this size. Looks to be in pretty good condition too.
A much newer model than mine or the ones I've seen advertised before.

    Have fun,
    Alli

I like it too Alli but in the same boat, happy with mine.
It's refreshing to see such a great description from the seller and some one who know's what they are looking at.

    Hi folks,

I'm sure many of you will enjoy this three-wheeled beauty of a bandsaw, made by Sansons of London.

That is a special machine, one for you Matty, perhaps? That would look really nice near your planer/matcher...

Well there would certainly be a few teeth on a blade that long to share the cutting.
    Cheers from Micheal.

I don't usually post in this thread anymore, concerned I'm stuffing someone's deal up, but this is a gumtree, so if you were going to buy, you already would have been in touch and done a deal.

this Waldown is too far away for me, so this is for you WA members

It's 3 phase, but still a good price for a pedistal.

    Cheers,

    Camo

Default Disston handsaw for auction Sat 29 Aug 2015

I was looking through the catalogue of Vickers & Hoad - an antiques auction in Waterloo in Sydney - for Saturday 29 August and saw that item/lot number 468 is described as an antique Disston handsaw and other tools. see http://www.vickersandhoad.com/catalogues.php
I live in Queensland so I haven't seen it and wouldn't know a good Disston from a bad one but thought this may be the beauty someone was waiting for. Hope I'm not wasting your time.

(I have no financial or other association with the auction house and have never even bought from them)

    Well spotted.
Looks like a very nice #7. Sunken medallion and two flat-nuts (with one more modern domed nut I think) would put it earlier than 1900.

I thought this book press looks interesting too ... http://www.vickersandhoad.com/catalo...d=237719&day=1
