Thread: Some gnarly Blackwood

I acquired some small slabs of this timber from MM the other week, thought I would turn some of it into a serving board as a test to see if the colour goes with some huon I have sitting around, as I'm thinking of using this combo for a coffee table.

I just grabbed a random piece, so the figure isn't anything exciting, but the colours sure are pretty!

Milled a small section of root today and scored a nice pair of boards

The fiddleback gives them a three dimensional look...like mountain ridges on a landscape

There's a Chimp face at the top of #3. Looks like a feed of green jelly before.
