I like the Thornbill. Something must have ruffled the Blue Wren's feathers

Well there is very little happening with the birds in and around the Shack at the moment.
The Blue Wrens are losing their colour very quickly and it goes to show that pretty can rub off!.
Compered to a shot from a couple of weeks ago their looking a little shabby!

Slim pickings at the moment buy still a nice way to spend some time.

Got some shots of a Blue Wren yesterday I think I'll call him The Last of the Mohicans.
Or maybe his just an extra from Brave Heart!.

    IMG_2644.jpg IMG_2648.jpg

This one wasn't his best angle!.

A Wren wondered into the Shack.

    IMG_2620.jpg

It spent sometime sitting on the kitchen bench before Tayne and I managed to direct it to the open door.

    IMG_2669.jpg IMG_2675.jpg

Thornbill's in heavy foliage I really enjoy getting shots like these.

    IMG_2688.jpg

Mind you their fun to photograph at anytime!.

    Cheers

Lots of Birds around the Shack yesterday.

    A Striated Pardalote.

    IMG_2697.jpg IMG_2699.jpg

    Dave's not so Blue Wren.

    IMG_2704.jpg IMG_2748.jpg

With the colour Dave here's my guess, through the lens the blue looks to be almost like a wax coating over the feathers.
I reckon the bird secretes something during the "I'm Feeling Frisky Season" and I do mean to produce the blue colour!.
    Anyway thanks my guess.

A Dusky Robin in a tree next door.

    IMG_2719.jpg IMG_2723.jpg

This fellow is a new one to me a Golden Whistler.
Beautiful bird and I hope it turns up more often.

    IMG_2730.jpg IMG_2736.jpg

There was lots more on the day, but I'll save some for those rainy days when the camera stays inside.

    Cheers

Here is a bit of interesting reading about the Blue Wren colour loss. Maybe the Golden Whistler can be the bird of choice during the winter to bring that splash of colour.

    Good morning world.
It was pretty grey and overcast for most of yesterday but I got a few shots off!.

You can never be to sure who's looking over the fence.

    IMG_2898.jpg

Were as others just seem to be looking for a direction in life!.

    IMG_2973.jpg

Your right Dave the Blue Wrens are just wonderful regardless of their plumage.
