It's probably just shivering after the rain

Well there is very little happening with the birds in and around the Shack at the moment.
The Blue Wrens are losing their colour very quickly and it goes to show that pretty can rub off!.
Compered to a shot from a couple of weeks ago their looking a little shabby!

It spent sometime sitting on the kitchen bench before Tayne and I managed to direct it to the open door.

With the colour Dave here's my guess, through the lens the blue looks to be almost like a wax coating over the feathers.
I reckon the bird secretes something during the "I'm Feeling Frisky Season" and I do mean to produce the blue colour!.
Anyway thanks my guess.

Beautiful bird and I hope it turns up more often.

Here is a bit of interesting reading about the Blue Wren colour loss. Maybe the Golden Whistler can be the bird of choice during the winter to bring that splash of colour.
