That would be like asking an ISIS member if they are a role model
If it got too serious around here everyone would stop coming. I just need some more Holden fanatics for support.

Love your sunset shots Crowie, especially the first one with the glistening railway lines in it.

Dave looks like the boys & ladies all had a brilliant time. Thanks to all for photos LOML likes the spinning wheel any idea who made it?? Very interesting concept with footman going through the leg, variety of speed ratio changes, bearings, and balance weights?

    It's Bob's [forgive me, I don't remember her name] doing the spinning;
very clever lady, spun enough alpaca wool over the weekend, then knitted a set of finger-less gloves for one of the other ladies, [Matt's wife I think??] .....
You could shot a note to Bob [aka OldGreyBeard] ... cheers, crowie

Default Australia Day in Dooen 26/01/2016

    Australia Day in Dooen 26/01/2016....

Only 10 people left at the Get Together, 2 ladies, 3 children and 5 blokes....WHAT SHALL WE DO?????

Ray said the "Firewood Challenge" is still on and Dave needs a work bench; so Ray, Dave, Ron, Uncle Al & I all pitched in under Ray's supervision....

First to collect the timber from one of the piles, denail it, cut it to length...
Plus collect some of the rusty old booker rod from the other pile, repairing the threads & straightening....
Work out how to connect all the pieces of Dave's "Torque Work Centre".....
Attach the circular saw to the Torque Work Centre to square the sides...
Drill & recess the holes for the booker rod....
Glue up next & bolt together....
The next step was to attach the router to the Torque Work Centre to level/true the boards....
Clear away a huge bin of saw dust & shavings; apologies to the blokes who cleaned up the shed, but it's now covered in wood dust....
Finally to oil the old timbers, WOW some beautiful colours and grains in that old timber....

While the legs & braces have been cut ready for fitment, we ran out of time and energy, so Dave & Ron will have to do them another day.....

What a top Australia Day, meat pies for lunch, lots of flies, dust & heat, woodworking with mates, along with doing something very worthwhile......Thank you!!!!
