Lots of work being done, but the progress doesn't look like much.
I've fitted all of the fins to the left cylinder head and all it needs now is the rocker supports.

    IMG_8841.jpg IMG_8844.jpg IMG_8846.jpg

But before I do that I'll get the fins finished on the other head as well.
It will be good to have these cylinders out of the way and I can start making the carburettor.
One of my favourite parts of an engine to build, lots of fiddley bits and detail to chase!.

    Cheers
    Trev.

Go figure I did exactly what I said I wasn't going to do (That's never happened before).

I was meant to finish off the fins on the right cylinder head.
But after getting some brass plate to use on the rocker supports while I was in Hobart yesterday I forgot all about the other job.
Still it all needs to be done at some point.

    IMG_8866.jpg IMG_8868.jpg

The Brass will be made into a facing plate that fits on to the top of the rocker supports.
One of them is arrowed in the picture below.

I've seen the plate in both chrome or brass.
I like the idea of the brass as it makes for a good contrast with all of the chrome.
Will just see how it goes.

But before that I guess I'd better go back and finish the right cylinder head like I said I was going to!.

I've been out and about a bit over the last few days enjoying the beautiful sights of Tassie.
But I've also managed to finish off the last of the heads, and get two coats of primer onto the engine.

When it's all striped down the engine has 8 main components.
Which are made from a total of 188 individual parts.

    The crankcase halves.

    IMG_8876.jpg

    The Barrel's.

    IMG_8870.jpg

    The Heads.

    IMG_8872.jpg

And the Timing case and cover.
The Inlet manifold is there as well but still needs work.

    IMG_8878.jpg

When it's all stacked together hopefully it's starting to look like a V Twin J.A.P.

    IMG_8879.jpg

There'll be several coats of primer going on over the next week or so, along with a hole lot of sanding.
But in between that I'll get started on the Carburettor.

    Cheers
    Trev.

I've made a good start on the carbie over the last couple of days.
It's scale compared to the cylinders looks pretty much "Mickey Mouse".

    IMG_8922.jpg IMG_8926.jpg

The body of the carbies made from PVC, Pine and Bodyfiller (No Surprises There) and a piece of brass.

    IMG_8923.jpg IMG_8924.jpg IMG_8925.jpg

The small ram on the front was made by using the neck of a 2 litre Coke bottle as a mould.
I covered it in three layers of Bodyfiller and then pulled the plastic out.

    IMG_8932.jpg IMG_8930.jpg

Lots more parts to be made for the carbie including two mixing bowls.

    Cheers

Coming along great Trev. It is great fun working out how to make things and surprising what can be used
