Wow
That's really coming together now it's looking fantastic.
Can we get a smoke machine in the chimney .
If you want it at daves next GTG give me a call.
I'm sure we could fit it in the back of our van

Keith it is looking like a winner.
You might need to do what a lot of the live steamers do - build a trailer to transport them. In your case it would need to be wide enough for three tracks. One for the D4, one for the K tender and one for the K engine.
There are so many events your models could be displayed at - railway events and steam rallies. You would then have no time for bowls or builds.
If you are building the K to the same scale you could make a start as some items would be the same eg couplers, and air hoses. Other items are the same but as you have already finished them I won't mention them here.

Thanks Kevin,
Appreciate all your support.
Looking forward to the K Class. Good idea about a trailer.
Thanks again

Hi All,
Hot in the shed today - 40 degrees plus. Cool change just arrived.
I have been working on the rear section. Fitted lights and made up some handrails. Cannot fit them yet. Will do that after I join the coal bunker to the loco and then body fill and smooth off. I think the connection of the bunker will be one of the latter jobs I do - otherwise I think I will be hamstrung in my access to finish off the items.
I have made the lights removable - they just slip into slotted brackets that I have fitted to the rear of the bunker. Still need to work on and fit the coupler and then the disengagement mechanism as well as the air brake hose and coupling.
Lots of enjoyment - but hot !!!!
I have taken a second, side-on photo of the loco with some greenery.
Regards
Keith

Hot
Just to make you feel uncomfortable (or to warm those in the northern hemisphere) here is an image of a fire in a working steam engine. The door is only open about 100mm, (4") and the risk of radiation burn is quite likely (it gets uncomfortable) if the door is open wider for too long to record an image.
Looking good Keith. My wife is impressed.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE BOY
Hope you have a great day mate!.
Don't forget it's a special day so try to do something different for a change, not just working in the shed on your train.
I don't know maybe try a game of bowls or something!.
Cheers Mate have a great one!.
