Not to worry Christos the bike will be pretty much period correct.
I started building the J.A.P engine (which was used in a number of different models of Brough's) as a bit of a fill-in while getting more information on a later model.
But somewhere along the way it seems to have turned into a complete bike in my mind.
Sounds a bit Neff I know but when I look at the engine all I see is a 1926 Brough Superior.
My Brough will be along the lines of this Devilishly Beautiful one below.

Thumping Great J.A.P Engine, Sturmey Archer Gearbox and lots of Chrome bits the hole nine yards!.
Now that I've honed in on the model I'm basing the build on I'll need to make some small changes to the engine I've made so that it falls in line.
But don't worry Mad Max wont be sitting on this bike, unless his dressed as a Cowboy!.
Cheers
Trev.

I think you've all got the 'Mad' part covered already! The Max/Mel part needs a lot of work though.
Wonderful work Trevor. I hope the St. Helens market is a fun day for you.

Don't be to hard on us CAG!.
We're not much different than one of your classes.
Someone's always being silly when your backs turned.
If it all gets to out of hand just through the blackboard duster at someone.
But if you do I'd just like to say now before you take aim "CROWIE DID IT".
With all of the rain I didn't take the Indian into town yesterday.
I'll just go in next weekend (Tassie weather permitting).
Cheers Mate

I really should have written "I think we've all got the 'Mad' part covered already!" I don't set myself apart from the group in that regard!
BTW, what's rain? We don't know about that stuff around here. 35-40+ degrees - yes, precipitatations - no. Check out Tocumwal's March temperatures on Elder's Weather website to see what I mean.

Rained for the first half of the day.
My open plan workshop was not at it's best.
But the sun broke through just after lunch.
I've stripped the engine back down so I can start making the changes needed to have it suit the 1926 Brough Superior.
But before getting right into that, I've spent the afternoon sizing and fitting the bass covers that bolt to the rocker supports.

To get the fit as good as I could I bolted the covers in place and use the Dremel to sand the MDF and Brass down together.
That's given them a good overall flush finish.

I still need to enlarge the centre holes in a few of the covers.
But the heads are coming up well I reckon.
Cheers

Trev
The brass covers have come up excellent - even though it may have cost you a few sets of blunt scissors
