Not the greatest day for quality photo's yesterday, but still very interesting.
I went for a bit of an explore of the property and found a great spot in amongst the pines and bracken fern.

Like I say the photo's weren't the best but it's great to know what's around.

The first I stumbled across was the elusive all year round Blue Wren.

    IMG_8346.jpg IMG_8331.jpg

I never got close enough for a clear shot, but now I know his out there.
Reckon someone will be pleased with that!.
All I need do now is find him again and get him to sit still.

Down in the thicket I also found Charlie's favourite a Golden Whistler.
Again no good clear photo's but it's nice to now their around.

    IMG_8305.jpg IMG_8310.jpg

Even the Scarlet Robins are down there.

    IMG_8341.jpg

I'm going to need some practice at moving around in there and not scaring the birds off.
Maybe I need to build a hide?

I think I maybe getting far to serious about all this!.
But gee it's fun went it's right outside your door.

    Luv this place!.

    Cheers
    Trev.

Pretty busy working on things to get the Indian ready for an Exhibition down in Hobart.
So not much time to take photo's.
But around here you don't really need much time to get some shots.
You just need to keep tunned into where the birds are!.

    IMG_8520.jpg IMG_8521.jpg IMG_8531.jpg

A poor attempt at a pun I know, but I haven't had enough coffee yet!.

This is the same pair of Scarlet Robins in amongst the pines.

Yesterday was a combination of not much time and not much around.
But rattled a few off anyway!.

    IMG_8535.jpg IMG_8546.jpg IMG_8491.jpg

Far right below is a bit more of the weirdness from around the place.

    IMG_8551.jpg IMG_8536.jpg IMG_8545.jpg

This old tree stump in amongst the bracken fern is massive.
It's hard to give an idea of the size of it.

    IMG_8540.jpg

Why didn't I think of it, shoulda put the coke can on it!.

    Cheers

I spent most of yesterday working in the shed.
But I took the camera and set it up near the door incase I heard any birds outside.
I'm sure there was a lot more around than I happened to hear.
But I still got a few.

    Hi,
I love the way every one of those have a beady eye on you. For us with bifocal vision, we face things to look at them with both eyes but birds use a separate eye for each side and I think each one has you in full focus.
I have noticed that in most of your fantastic bird shots.
    Regards
    Hugh

And fair enough to I'd reckon.
In the short time I've been here I'm quite sure they'd all have me on a list of stalkers!

Here's a few I snuck up on yesterday.

    Have a great day folks!.

A day of contrast around St. Helens.

Here's the harbour in the morning always good for a Kodak Moment!.

    IMG_9627.jpg

The two shots below are from my place at around 4 in the afternoon.
    Talk about an early sunset.

    IMG_9630.jpg

    IMG_9635.jpg

I drove down into the valley to get a better view of what was going on.

    IMG_9639.jpg IMG_9649.jpg IMG_9651.jpg

    IMG_9653.jpg IMG_9657.jpg

The dramatic effect was caused by smoke from a distant fire and some light localised rain.
Hopefully everyone's OK wherever the fire is, but it sure makes for a beautiful sky!.

    Cheers

Still a fair amount of smoke in the air today and a little rain.
But that didn't stop the birds from turning up!.

This first photo's for Dallas I know he likes a spiders web when it turns up in a photo.
This ones a cracker even though I didn't notice it at the time I took the shot.
I've cropped the photo off centre to get all of the web in.

    IMG_8827.jpg

I can't believe the Fantail didn't brake it when he landed on the twig.

Here's some of the other shot's I got during the day.

    IMG_8806.jpg IMG_8808.jpg IMG_8813.jpg

    IMG_8819.jpg IMG_8872.jpg IMG_8852.jpg

I like the first photo of the Robin but I always feel sorry for the little critters that end up as lunch.
