Thanks for the kind words Gentlemen.
I'm more than pleased that you enjoy the photo's.
It's fair to say picking up the camera each day has become a big part of my life down here.
As for the speed of the little critters I like to photograph so much Peter.
At the moment I could only describe it as "Wicked Quick".
If you can get one of these little missiles to sit still for 5 seconds it's a lifetime!.
It rained on and off all day yesterday so I was a bit limited with time.
But in amongst a series of shots of an Eastern Spinebill I took one frame I call Hovering Herbert.

No only can these amazing little fellows hover like a Harrier Jump Jet, his got his head almost completely upside down at the same time.

It looks like one of Dave's Wrens woke up on the wrong side of the bed, compered to the somewhat more Zen Tassie Thornbill.
Cheers Guy's

I thought yesterday was going to be a bust for a while but in the end it was saved by a Kookaburra and a couple of Wrens.
Like every day here I could hear birds all over the place but they seemed to have other things to do than strike a pose.

Well the weather was pretty wide here yesterday.
High winds, driving rain and at times fine and sunny.
You'd think I'd moved to Melbourne!.
In amongst it all I'd pretty much given up on any photos when these two showed up in a patch of sunshine.

If you look in the background of the pictures of the male Robin you'll see the vertical white streaks of the rain drops.
If your wondering why the birds seem to like that post their sitting on so much, it's because it gives a good view over the front lawn.
A great spot to see what's on offer!.

The birds must be starting to get used to you being around. They're now happy to have their photo taken.
What's going on Dave, you starting to follow Trev's timetable? 5:42 and have already been up for an hour

Love the photos Trev,
The last 2 are fantastic. The clarity of the bird's head and the wing movement add another dimension. Great stuff
