Brisbane T&WWW Show Forum stand 2016 - HELP
Help wanted for Forum Stand at:
Brisbane Timber & Working With Wood Show
MAY 27th, 28th & 29th 2016
We have been asked to have a Forums Stand again at this years Brisbane Show. Only found out 2 days ago and waiting on IanW to see if he is able to handle it so late in the day with only 2 weeks to go.
Anyway..... We need people who will be able to give some of their time to man the stand on any or all of the following days Friday, Saturday and Sunday also help pack up Sunday evening.
Anyone who volunteers to help out will get free entry for the day(s) they are rostered on to help.
Sorry it is such late notice but hope to be able to get a good roll up. It has been suggested by IanW that members bring along some of their work for show and tell or display and talk about. This can be for the entire length of the show or just for the time or day you are rostered on. This is an idea to create a bit more interest on the stand and for the forums.
If you would like to help out please respond in this thread with name preferred time and day(s).
Cheers - Neil

I should be good for pretty much any time on Sunday; and I don't mind hanging back to help pack up if my stint is in the arvo.

I have an early appointment Friday but am happy to help out for an hour Friday morning between 11 until 1 pm, and can also do a stint sometime on Saturday.

I would love to help, but each year my pragmatic side says "you can spend that budget on real toys" so I find it hard to justify the travel costs to attend. My appologies in advance.

I can be there for a bit on Friday. Maybe from 1pm to 2pm?
What does working at the show consist of?

Having done it at the Melbourne shows, it is not hard - stand around, look intelligent, hand out pamphlets and explain how the Forum works. Emphasise that it is all FREE although you will still strike some sceptics.

It's a woodworking show, not a masquerade .
Seriously, it's easy (except for looking intelligent, which is getting more and more difficult for me, but soon I will be at the point where I either don't care or am blissfully unaware).
IanW
Would you like me to bring along half a dozen restored handsaws and back saws for show and tell? I have some placards to go with them.
