Last update for today.
In late April with varnishing the interior underway, I set about adding sifted sand to the floor to add a non skid surface after seeing this blog
Sailing a Dutch Goat Island Skiff: Making Non-Slip panels in my Goat Island Skiff
Both these pics are after the sand was scattered onto wet varnish. The second being about 5 hours after the first. There's about three more coats of varnish after the second pic which has made the floor translucent, like the first pic. It still feels a bit rough to be honest and wish I embedded the sand in the final coat of wet epoxy. But it does look great and feels like it'll work well.

Overall I had six coats of varnish on the interior and decided to move the boat into the garage which would be less dusty. I still don't have a trailer so I welded some old gal square tube together for a makeshift trailer, wheeled it out of the shed, fitted the mast for the hell of it then wheeled it into the garage. The sixth coat of varnish was my best so far and although I planned a seventh as a final coat it was a step backward. I did a light scrub with 320 plus scotchpad then vaccumed and tack clothed. The varnish was near the end of the 4L tin and becoming thick. I used it straight out of the tin and it just didn't flow too well. Another lesson learned. Whether thinning and straining would've helped is debatable, I should've used the new 4L tin I had on hand but didn't want to crack it open. Oh well, still looks good.

Looking very good there!
I had the same problem with my pot of varnish - you want that last 500ml of varnish to be the best in order to apply the final coat, but what you're left with after all the previous coats is the gluggy remains of the 4 litre tin. Little bit annoying that is!
