Are we on the verge of a miter box trend?
Innovations are those useful things that, by dint of chance, manage to survive the stupidity and destructive tendencies inherent in human nature.

How to turn a junk late model 9-1/2 that's already been raided for parts into a collectors piece...

Early Stanley LOW Angle Block Plane FOR THE Collector in VIC | eBay

He has a "Make an offer" on it; I'd suggest $5 providing he covers the postage.

Until you turned up this little jewel (box) I had thought this listing was a little extreme:

Railroad Bridge Building Carpenters Complete Tool Kit | eBay

I went looking for it earlier, but couldn't find it until today: Some pix.

    Railroad toolbox.jpgRailroad toolbox 2.jpgRailroad toolbox 3.jpgRailroad toolbox 4.jpg

and, and, and...... It includes a mitre box

    Railroad toolbox 5.jpg

Bargain at US$7,895.00; Even if it isn't painted.

some sellers must have a sense of humour.
I've worked with bridge and wharf carpenters -- no way would most of those tools find a place on any timber bridge build I've been involved with.

I have purchased in the past some CDs of old books on Ebay. Some have been interesting tending towards enlightening, if you are excited by saw catalogues and the like.

When I saw this one I was immediately attracted to it.

    B.T.B.Manual.jpg

Of course a picture of the Wenzloff's Kenyon saws was always going to suck me right in.

Treatise on The Care of Saws and Knives B T and B Manual 300 Pages on CD | eBay

Initially I was wary as it was only a single book whereas in the past I have purchased discs that had fifteen or twenty books on them, admittedly with a lot of repetition. For some reason I went looking for this book on the net and I found it available free of charge:

    https://archive.org/details/btbmanualtreatis00baldrich

You can read the whole lot for free! However there is a catch. There are no Wenzloff saws, there are no Kenyon saws: In fact there are no handsaws at all .
