Are you sick of the Win 10 nag
If you're sick of the constant nagging to upgrade to Win 10 then there's a good little program to uninstall the icon on the task bar and stop the nagging. It's called never10, works for Win 7 and Win 8.

The nag is telling me the free update offer is only till July 29, 12 more days and it should go away, but it probably won't.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

If I remember correctly, I turned off auto-update for Win 8.1 (including the service) and that fixed it.
I absolutely hate it when I am in a hurry to do something and the computer comes up with a blue
screen "don't touch this computer, don't turn it off until we tell you to" right as you need to get at
the internet banking or some such. Half an hour later it's still churning away.
That happened to me twice, and auto-update went down the gurgler. 'puter's been running fine
since.

Mine still nags.
Have been wondering if I should go to 10?.
There seems to be mixed opinion about it.
Did not like going from XP to 8.1.
How are folk finding windows 10 after 8.1?
10 is meant to be more secure if you believe the spiel.

I resisted for a long time. Reading reviews, I evenutally went with it. Much happier with Win 10 than win 8.1. I wished I had been able to stay with Win7, but that wasn't an option for my newer laptop... Win 10 is a lot more like Win7 and I'm happy again.
Did a bit of reading up about stopping it reporting back to base and turned all those options off.Cheers,
Joe

Do it, I think it's the best of the lot. I really like XP but it just has too many vunerabilities and the 64 bit version got little support, 7 was pretty but slow, 8 was super fast and really good if you knew your shortcuts, 10 is a mix of 7 and 8 and in my opinion works pretty well.
I was concerned about it's love for using RAM and my computer was close to using it's full 4GB so I put 16GB in it and it still doesn't seem to use much more than 4GB very often.
