We normally sit on the lounge chairs in the lounge on the LHS as you enter from the foyer. Surely you can't miss my ugly mug.

Never mind the bollox, what sort of ideas were floated about the Melbourne GTG?
While there has been a handful of positive responses to the idea of a BBQ and shed tour at my place in October. Was this possibility discussed? If so what do people think of shed visits vs RSL?
Nice boxes Peter.I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

We did discuss the BBQ and thought it would be good. I would like the GTG to be on a weekend but am not worried about when or where. It is hard to suit everybody.

Just a thought, putting it out there, following the recent discussions about having gtg's at different locations and moving it around.
This is not about having the October event at my place as I have previously proposed and has seemed to be accepted by the group, but a suggestion for the September meeting.
Ballarat Woodworkers have their annual show on the weekend of 24 and 25 September (Last weekend, so pretty close to the last Monday). I usually attend this show and I am sure I am not the only one who makes the annual trip. Last year we took my youngest grandson along for the ride - his first woodwork show! It is a great family day out and not too far from Melbourne.
Some people may have to cross the dreaded bridge, but it might also spark some interest from forumites in Ballarat, Bendigo and other places on that side of Melbourne.
We could drive up and attend the show then have a get together afterwards - a picnic in the park, meet at a pub or restaurant for dinner or whatever. We would be supporting another Woodies event as a bonus.
Maybe a member from Ballarat could suggest a venue?
Anyway, just putting it out there...

Sounds like a great idea but like others, finding the time is a bugger. Busy at my mens shed at the moment doing extension. As I'm in Narre Warren, I'll keep an eye on this thread and may be able to sneak out .

The Ballarat show would be nice for me to attend, but it's a little too far for a meet for me. I'll keep an eye out for the October dates.

Ok I'm in Melb ready for next meet. Not sure about Ballarat, bit far from Tooradin, but let me know when and where next one. I'm available till first week of Oct.
