Uploading photos was temporarily an issue
Mum had some break-ins, unfortunately, so putting the gate in place (roughly 3 years down the track) was more of a symbolic act at the same time as adding some security cameras to the house. The gate isn't for security as such.
It was still unpainted (her job ), still straight , and fit the gap perfectly (phew).
I was reminded that it was initially planned as a test run before making one in jarrah - but it turned out ok, so we left it at that.
We used some of the highly dilapidated old jarrah plank gate to add some extra weight to it and, now painted white, it has a nice solid feel to it.

Speaking of painted white, I did make a couple of cupboard doors out of marine ply and tassie oak over a week or so.
They were for my sister, to replace some peeling, pine-veneered chipboard.
Nothing remarkable to report. The first one took about 90 hours and 90 mistakes. The second one probably four hours total
A pin-nailer and glue figured prominently - nothing super traditional there.
It would have been a much shorter job without mitreing the corners, but I liked it better ... apart from the occasional gap at the start that you could park a car in.
I did find that drilling into the 4" x 3/4" boards at the bottom with a brace and bit was really controllable.
Nice to finish something relatively quickly.
