That is a totally different scale of use to a what a hobby user would have.

At stumps today....
image.jpg
.... the old acoustic closet has been removed, the (was-supposed-to-be-replaced-by-the-Laguna-but-still-in-service) JET bandsaw stands where the closet used to be, the new acoustic closet is on the verandah on the other side of the wall, the soundproof access door is beside the JET. The new closet still needs its acoustically baffled exhaust vent and some final colorbond cladding, the 150mm ductwork needs rerouting and rejoining ........... and I'm knackered!a rock is an obsolete tool ......... until you don’t have a hammer!

Looks good Alan especially on its side BUt wow a lot of work in one day for a young-ish bloke....
You must deserve a drink and time to put your feet up though a little chilly on the shed verandah with a fire pit....
Cheers, Peter

Association of ideas is a strange and, occasionally, wonderful thing. Hydrotron had me thinking that this is what Dan Dare (anybody remember him) might have used had he been a woodworker. He probably would have confiscated it from The Mekon.
What sort of size are the reconditioned filters?

They are the Ultra-Web series cartridges in 2 different sizes. The first are the round 14" in diameter 26" long, an area of 254 square feet. The second size ones are oval, 11 1/2" x 14 1/2" and 26" long with an area of 190 square feet. Both types are MERV 15 rated.

I've been sort of stumbling along relocating the DC, rearranging the ducting etc in no particular haste but I picked up 2 commissions yesterday and so I had to get my b*m into gear and get it finished pronto. The new (3hp) DC hasn't been VFD'd yet so this new arrangement still has the old (2hp) DC in the acoustic closet. I've regained a few square metres inside he shed, created an acoustic closet big enough for the 3hp DC, removed a few sharp corners in the duct work and created a new gating 'logic'.

Ive also gained a 100mm flexible line for the drill press (which is also a bobbin sander), bandsaw and floor vacuum.
I haven't yet finished the colorbond cladding on the outside of the closet nor the muffled exhaust vent so I haven't taken any noise measurements yet BUT, at 4PM this afternoon I stood under my neighbours closest window and, by using the remote switch, I could not hear when the DC was operating !
Tomorrow will be cladding, tidying up some of the acoustic panels in the closet and then....... BACK TO WORK!

Started some 'real work' today but, if the last week wasn't 'real work', why do I hurt so much?a rock is an obsolete tool ......... until you don’t have a hammer!

Your sentiment is SPOT ON Ian. I haven't shown it before (I think?) but this sign is at Bub-height beside the front door. The bubs can't read yet but my adult daughters have certainly taken the message to heart

Thanks for fixing the pic Christos . I had even previously taken the same pic and saved 3 copies all at 90 degrees to each other. When I posted all 4 in to a draft, ALL 4 were still the wrong way around when posted !

Alan
I have had the same problem with pix. I rotate them to correct orientation wherever I have saved them. they my be right when i look at the Forum preview, but revert to sideways when posted. I don't have enough hair for this level of grief .
Like your sign: No grandchildren, just a couple of honorary specimens( 'onnery?) so not quite appropriate for me plus I would have to improve my success rate.

Wasn't the general consensus the problem was caused by posting from a phone? I know it was not the entire problem because I had one post it occurred in and I never use a phone only a desktop. Post 8 in this link seems to suggest that it is not going to be fixed any time soon, note the date of the post.....
