Was supposed to get some time in the shed last weekend but some animal drilled my petrol cap in a pathetic attempt to steal my fuel. Wound up spending all Saturday removing and replacing it 😤
Any other weekend wouldn't have been that big a deal but I was travelling for work this week, just got back from Worsley Alumina refinery after a few days working out there. Was nice getting away but glad to be back, hopefully this weekend I can finally finish the jointer!

Put in some more work on the jointer, happy to say I'm most of the way there now. Still need to fit the motor and VFD, bolt on the rabbeting ledge and organise a spring for the guard but its starting to look a lot more like a jointer again!
Was surprisingly easy getting both tables back on after I thought the process through, was going about it all wrong before. This time I screwed the handles into the tables and then through the pin that sets the height. Once I did that it was just a matter of aligning the pin with the hole in the base and it went together with no trouble.

After thinking about it the last few days I've decided I won't be updating this thread anymore nor making any other posts on this site. Some of you that have talked to me outside the forums or through PM will probably know why but I won't get into it here. I'll be posting updates somewhat regularly on my Instagram (username is machinerybloke) if you still want to see progress on my restorations. Thanks to everyone who encouraged and inspired me over the years, I'm sure I'll bump into some of you soon.

Im not sure what happened.
But i have enjoyed your journey, rebuilding old gems into great machines through this thread.
All the best, and keep working on those machines until you have all the machines you need.
Cheers,
Bryn

No idea what has caused you to leave us, but I wish you all the best with your projects. I have admired your restorations and attention to detail, those machines will live on for many a year after all the TLC you have put in to them.
As for Instagram, I have no idea how to drive that, so unfortunately it looks like goodbye and good luck.
Sorry to see you go,
Alan...

Thanks for the kind words guys. To clear up the confusion I don't have any problems with the content or the 99% of the users here, it's more the moderation. Tired of having posts deleted without warning or explanation, I've posted on tons of forums over the last 20ish years and never encountered anything like I've experienced here.
