    Thanks Derek.

Still a bit sore - see the physio again on Friday.

In the meantime whilst awaiting the ballast to dry I have started making up a logo sign (it's the BMW logo) for my 5 year old grandson. Making it out of MDF using my scroll saw. He is a BMW fanatic (don't know where he got that from) used to be Ford - but unfortunately that has gone by the wayside.

Quite enjoyable - no pressure on getting items to fit into each other.

    Regards

    Keith

    Hi All,

Have now completed the base - track - sleepers - ballast - for my Stirling Single to "run" on.

Sadly - this build is almost complete.

Below is a photo of my track

If we didn't see the roller door in the background one would could think you've had lend of us photographing the local railway tracks.
    Very well done Keith

Always a sad time when a project that you have spent many an hour creating comes to an end, but at the same time a joy comes over you thinking of the adventures ahead with a new project looming on the horizon.

Great job on the track Keith I have been enjoying your trials and tribulations on this build, OK I know it is not yet complete but will be waiting to see the end result and also the first instalment of the new build.

    Hi All,

    My locomotive is now finished.

Just a recap off Wikipedia -"The Great Northern Railway (GNR) No. 1 class Stirling Single is a class of steam locomotive designed for express passenger work. Designed by Patrick Stirling, they are characterised by a single pair of large driving wheels which led to the nickname "eight-footer". Originally the locomotive was designed to haul up to 26 passenger carriages at an average speed of 47 miles per hour (76 km/h)

The locomotive was first built in 1870 and was totally withdrawn from service in 1910.

This has been a pleasure and trying item to build. It has been a big learning curve getting into the use of PVC and finally really getting "stuck" into the bodyfiller - thanks to TJ.

This build has taken me 789 hours to make , but probably double that with the trial and stuff I have thrown away. (I recommend people keep a diary of their build as well as this fantastic Forum to keep a record of what they have done ) Really handy to look back and not have to re-invent stuff.

Thanks to everyone who has looked at my stuff and given me great support over the length of time of this build - I really appreciate it - you are all great - THANKS

Below are some photos taken out in my garden. Again thanks.

Next build - another locomotive - but back in time - Stephenson's Rocket.

But I have to do some work around the house before I start that Project

    All the Best

    Regards

    Keith

All the time, effort, blood, sweat and log phones to St Helens have really paid off with another magnificent model train to be proud of, for sure....

I'm sure if Trev was still hear he'd be across the strait too quick, to personally shake your hand, as I know many other, including myself would and will.... TOP JOB, SIR..

    Cheers, Peter

Absolutely mind blowing! The detail is outstanding even down to the rail, sleepers and ballast.
    Thanks for the journey.

    Thumbs up

    Well done.
Another superb model by a master and well presented.
Soon you will be charging admission at the door to view the quilts and the many models that you have made.

Pity that it is spring time and there are many jobs to do around the home but it will not be long before you are into your next project.

Hi Keith, what can I say ,that has not already been said ,I haven't posted to the forum for a long time now ,but have never missed a night to look up the forum ,and especially the model section ,I to think that your model should be in a museum it is priceless, and look forward to the next one, and I hope to soon be back on the models ,now that the car is finished.
