You know, given the complete ascendancy of the battery-powered drill, it's hardly surprising that anyone born after 1990 wouldn't have a clue what an 'eggbeater' drill was. But I'm stymied as to how (she?) decided it's a 'Yankee' driver (I suppose they do both have wooden handles at one end).

Doesn't look very promising, even for cannibalising- I can't see any guts in that chuck....

    Cheers,

I notice that the seller invites offers. Wonder what they might be and if any of them include monetary exchange.

The B & D Workmate is probably worth $20 as it doesn't look damaged, just rusty, and separately the saw could go for a tenner.

Here's a fellow (or lady) in the weeds:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Nor...8AAOSwRLZagNSI

!! (if marked norris, it would be worth about $800 if it had good wood and the original iron)

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Nor...0AAOSwqvNagM9f

!! (I sent them a message last night, must've been in a bad mood - that's a $400 plane in the states - horribly shrunken beech infill, U channel or C (whatever you prefer) steel. Norris's final efforts, which actually make a decent working panel plane if everything is still tight, but this plane is a basket case with the infill).

    Jeeez..

some of their items are within a factor of 3 when it comes to their price vs. market price.

In fact there's not much that doesn't have a coat of lovely blue: the thread, the saw collars, the pulley vee, the grease nipple .

I wonder of there was enough blue left to paint the bearings? It could probably be injected through the grease nipple....

It looks very nice next to the woods of NZ ruler.
I believe I used to have one of those rulers as a kid.
