Next level skills in modeling - Monte Carlo '86 scale 1/10
Few months ago I received request from beautiful looking young lady to make something unique for someone she really loves.
I never heard about this model as it would be more popular in USA and normally I would know better cars made in Europe.
So after quick research I found out that it's nice and cool car that features in good few movies as low rider, gangster or general get away wheels.
For your attention here it is, cool build of Chevy Monte Carlo '86 in scale 1/10 with dimensions of L 50cm; H 15cm, W 18cm.
This will feature open/close doors, trunk, hood, interior bits, moving wheels, other bits and finished with gloss black automotive paint.
Started as usual with research of body lines and other details that would be more significant to particular year model.
Part of it as well was drawing up side view, analyzing various other models pictures, measuring, re-scaling and remeasuring and work can be started.
I chose to make this one from MDF as it would be painted, don't really see the point to make model from real wood in this case. I never worked with this type of material so it would be again next learning curve to see what can be improved in making other models and what should not be done.

To be continued right now, stay tuned
Wheels made out of 5mm mdf, same as everything else as I got good few sheets of it. Painted with black acrylic paint, same on middle, with aluminum acrylic paint. Then finished off with few coats of automotive clear lacquer.
As on rest of the body I secured both sides on to square base to make sure all sides lines up perfect the added cross members as roof, front and rear window base and front rear bumper back.
