Default Timber like Huon pine but not

Hi. I have a few pieces of timber which I would like to identify. The key characteristic is that it has the same antisepticy smell as Huon pine, but less pronounced. Is there any other timber that smells like Huon (does King Billy, perhaps)?

It’s lighter in weight then Huon. Softer. Crumples a little when carving gouges are pushed through crossgrain.

    Cheers

You're not talking about Camphor Laurel by any chance?

Got a photo you can post up - face grain and end grain if possible please!

I tracked down the original owner - and apparently it’s a combination of Huon, Celery Top and King Billy.

The bits that smell like Huon are Huon. It’s softer then I’m used to but I guess Huon is not all the same.

    Cheers
