Not at all a dumb question.
Yes it would make a difference but then again I have also see some "not that smooth" PVC pipe.

Or for short enough lengths would it not really matter much.
Female junctions would be the least affected.

I guess it would still be better than flexy pipe.
    Yes

Would it make sense to try to orient the thread longitudinal to the airflow rather than concentrically around it (assuming that it even possible with the printer)?
    Yes

Gents would the under table hood for the bandsaw work better if it was placed lower from the table and flared like a bell mouth to more allow air in? I assume it it tight to the bottom of the table.

3D printed parts can be wet sanded to make them completely smooth

On another matter, for table saws, Im thinking its time to design and print a decent dust collector funnel to fit around the blade underneath

I might even finish that Laguna SUV bandsaw dust shroud I've been farting around with for years! How exciting!

The printed surfaces are much smoother than you would expect (or at least with the Prusa). Sure they are not PVC quality, but I still struggle to comprehend how good these printed parts come out.

The other thing that impresses me, is how accurate the prints are. I have been doing a few test lately to test accuracy. With no calibration, over 160mm the print is coming in better than 0.5mm in the x and y axis (and I need to change the test pattern to get better measurements), and within 0.1mm in the Z axis.
