    Hi All,

I have been working on the Rocket Passenger carriage buffer dampener assembly and the carriage subframe. The upper frame and cross members I made out of pine. Parts have been screwed and glued together and any countersunk heads filled with body filler. I have also smeared bodyfiller on any exposed end grain and then sanded back (leaving just enough bodyfiller) so the end grain cannot be seen through the primer paint.
The carriage is quite tall compared to the locomotive. Have enclosed an illustration of the carriage / loco that I am using as my guide. This seems pretty accurate compared to the loco / carriage videos of the working replicas shown earlier in this thread.

    Regards

    Keith

The chassis is looking great Keith it will just be right and make the whole thing look fantastic when all complete, good job they did not have guard waggons then.

As I said in Bruce's post trying to catch up with what I have missed. I have be absent from model building lately due to other things need doing.

    Hi All,

I have been working on the carriage.

Turned up the end buffer and now I am onto making up the framework for the carriage. I have fitted the hinges to each of the 6 posts for the outward opening doors.
The framing is pine that I have cut down on the table saw.

    Regards

    Keith

    Thanks for the post Derek.

My loco thread may be in limbo for a little while. Cath has an unexpected health issue so I won't be in the shed.

I am sure she will be OK but have to see some doctors.

    Regards

    Keith

    our thoughts are with you..

I recently had my wife in Hospital, (exploratory thing, you know), any way I asked my wife why they didn't want to see me, and she said "why would they want to see you?", I said they were looking at your A-hole yes?
