I did a bit of googling and found this link
https://www.instructables.com/id/Etching-brass-plates/
I think this is how the plates would have been made and looks like a simple task to do even for the backyarder. Not sure where to get the Ferric Chloride but the rest of the stuff is really straight forward.

Exactly the same as making your own printed circuit boards.

Is that plate on the Scroll saw Brass or Aluminium like the other Hyco Plates. I believe there is a different process for aluminum. Some suggest Drano and others a mix of Hydrochloric Acid and Hydrogen Peroxide.

Got some ordered so we will see what we can produce. Even done up the artwork for some badging I want to put on the Hyco Jointer that I am working on at the moment. Fingers crossed it does the Job.

Just wanted to make some heavy Brass Safety plates to give it more of a retro look on the aftermarket stand rather than stickers
Here are the two that I have done artwork for already.
Danger 240v Inside Plate.jpg A pretty standard design if you can imagine that the white area will be brass and the coloured areas will be etched and filled with enamel paint
Emergency Stop 60mm.jpg
With the Emergency stop plate it will replace the sticker that goes around the Emergency stop button Black will be brass Yellow etched and filled with enamel Paint The center Black bit will be drilled out to 22.5mm for the switch.
That's the plan anyway. I am going to use 2mm Brass so I can do a nice deep etch.. Will post some pics when I get all the gear and have a go at it.

And Here is the Hyco Plate that I will give Aluminium etching a go.
Hyco Plate 01.jpg
Obviously if you were going to etch these the colours need to be reversed. If anyone would like etch ready artwork just PM me with what you need and size also if you need JPEG or vector art. I draw everything in Corel but can export to other formats. No Cost to do this.

Just looked at your Logo, Stew and the wording is different... never taken notice of that before. They must have changed from Ball bearings to Tapered Roller Bearings at some point.

Charlie and @STWilliams
I got my blade holders from Mike and his profile name is @localele. I suggest you contact him direct to see if he is able to make some for you. PS they make a major difference to the functionality of the scroll saw.
Cheers
