    Hi Derek,

Yes, the clamps are so I can pull the sides off and work on the sides flat on the bench. I will start working on the interior with the walls flat on bench - much easier.

Would like to see a photo of your tool racking

    Regards

    Keith

    Hi All,

Been a while since I posted. Been busy with our Lawn Bowls Club, although I have been doing some work on the Rocket Carriage.

I have refitted and painted the internal partition walls between each compartment (they are still removable at this stage).

I have been trialing some different types of masking tape to see which gives the best result (least seepage under the tape). I have found one that I can recommend - It is called "Frog Tape" and although it is quite expensive - $11 a roll - I have found it excellent.

Below is a photo of my result and a photo of the tape container (available at Bunnings)

    Regards

    Keith

    Looking good as always.

That is the same tape I use on some of my work. If you really want to make sure you get no creep under any tape is to do the first colour and let dry, apply the tape and spary or paint the first colour along the tape this will fill any areas that may creep with the same colour already applied let that dry and just sand back lightly before applying the different colour. It may take a little longer but it does work if done carefully so that no ridge develops and no creep.

There must be something to show for all this time away from the shed!!

    Thanks Peter,

Yes we had a good season. I was Chairman of Selectors. A fair bit of work involved in that.

We finished second on ladder in home and away series - 18 games and then lost by 1 shot in the Qualifying Final. We won the Preliminary Final by 13 shots and then played the Grand Final against the side that beat us by 1. A tight game but we won the Premiership by 10 shots. A top night last Saturday night.
I was also fortunate enough to win the Club Championship and also the Club Pairs Championship.

Photos of the entire team and my rink. (We have 4 rinks of 4 players in Pennant)

    Well Done Keith (& Co.).
Now its time to get back on track with the carriage build. No more chasing kitty and jack for a while.

    Hi All,

Back onto the Rocket carriage now that bowls is finished.

I have made up the interior compartment walls and secured them in place by gluing and then securing through the outer walls with phillips head screws. These have been countersunk so I can fill the screw heads with body filler - smooth off with sandpaper and then give the relevant areas a repaint. (the clamps are no longer needed) Have made internal door knobs and given the windows a bit of a makeover with red curtains. Used 2mm wire as my curtain rails. The curtains have been hemmed (by Cathie) and I used yellow wool as curtain ties.

Next step will be to start making the seats.

    Regards

    Keith
