Google 'AC 240V Long Distance High Current 30A Relay RF Wireless Remote Control Switch' and you will eventually find an eBay seller 'mfreelaa' who lists this item. They are about $22 at the moment.

Mine works very well and is highly recommended. I cut the power cord in half and wired mine into the power cord between the DE and the wall socket and then mounted the relay on the wall above the DE. A second or third remote would be very handy, especially if you have multiple machines, as my single remote always seems to be laying on a different machine whenever I look for it.

I've got these installed on 2x 3HP and 1x 2HP extractors for the past 9-18 months with no problems.

Having done several, the last one I did was by far the best idea. Rather than mount and wire the switch into the extractor as I did with the other two, I housed the switch to go between the power point and extractor. The no-volt switch was then zip tied on. Simpler and more easily reversible if an issue were to develop (like sucking the remote up the extractor hose )

Yes

@riverbuilder, I was assuming the new beasty was a 3ph unit, but if it's anything like the current Carbatec offerings it's only a 240v 15A. In that case I'd go with NCArcher's plan !

If it is three phase I would use a VFD to run it as it gives so much more control and lowers current draw during the start phase. Some motors do not like being started more than a specified amount of times per hour because of the current draw and using a VFD takes away that limitation. It also allows the DE to be quitened down by reducing the motor speed, I do this at night or you want more flow just ramp up the speed to say 70hz. I don't know why the larger names in hobby DE even offer a single phase unit these days because it is so limiting and three phase is available so easily now with VFD's.

which one are you asking about? the one I mentioned is an Arlec (?) product sold by Bunnings. So, I'd guess it has approval

Just because it’s sold here doesn’t guarantee it’s approved.
That said the Arlec products I have seen do have the compliance mark.
