Hi All,
I have been doing a bit of woodturning over the last 2 days. Starting to look a bit like a locomotive with the smoke stack and steam dome in position.
Thanks to Kevin (Handyjack) for his expertise and information on the injectors which will be the next set of components on this build

Hi All,
It's been slow work on the Pannier. I have been making the injectors on both sides of the loco (Thanks Handyjack (Kevin) for the detailed information).
Even though the assembly is quite small - there are many components to make and they need to fit into a relatively confined space. Flanges are made out of MDF. Gaskets are 1mm cardboard. Flange bolts are 3mmthreads and nuts. The main body is machined up solid aluminium. Main pipework is copper tubing. Fitting the lot together is quite time consuming.

Hi Derek,
Have had a little bit of health problems but coming along OK. Back out in the shed a bit now. Making a trophy for the Bowls Club. An inter club trophy for games between us (Anglesea) and a Melbourne club.
Bowls is taking up a lot of time. Regional Events plus being Chairman of Selectors is quite time consuming.
Should be back on the Pannier within a fortnight.
Thanks for your message
Regards
Keith

Crowie,
I will post a picture of the trophy tomorrow. It's a surfboard with a bowl and jack on it. Anglesea (my Club) is on the Great Ocean Road. Lots of surfing done here and all along the Surf Coast.

Hi All,
This is the bowls trophy I am making.
The surfboard is 700mm long. The body is made of pine. The stringer is oak. I have stained it in a teak stain. So far there are 6 coats of spray gloss on the board.
The bowl and jack (halves) I turned up on my wood lathe. The bowl is made of oak and the insignia centre turned on metal lathe out of 40mm aluminium. The bowl is painted in 4 coats of billiard ball black. The jack is turned out of pine.

Nice trophy Keith, someone should be very happy to have that hanging on their club room walls.

Hi All,
Back onto my locomotive. Bowls season is pretty much over - one more Club Event to go. Beaten in Semi Final in Pennant in a very shortened COVID season.
I have turned up the buffers in my wood lathe. Supplier has changed brand of the Auto Primer I use. It is now a darker shade of grey. Looking forward to more work in the shed.

Sorry to learn about the bowls.
At least you might be able to get some shed time while the weather is nice. Hope you and Cathie are both well.
Look forward to more of the Pannier Loco.
