Last year my GP diagnosed me with gout in the right ankle and set me on 2 different gout meds over 4 weeks all to no avail. My mate who is a retired Paediatrician looked at my ankle and doubted the gout diagnosis and suggested I ask for an X-ray. Turned out I was walking on a broken ankle for about 6 weeks. After I got my Moon boot off the GP gave me a referral to my physio but she said do this, this and this - no charge. Come back if you have a problem.

When I had the broken ankle attended to at the hospital two young surgeons were really keen on operating, pins/plates etc "easy peasy" they said. I asked for a second opinion from a hospital surgeon but he was not available till the next day so they sent me home with a moon boot. Next morning the senior surgeon called and said "no surgery and stick with the moon boot".

Yesterday saw me having an appointment with a Physiotherapist. I supplied him with a "diary" of my activities and explained where the pain was. He manipulated my limbs to see where they we sore. He asked more questions then made his diagnosis......I have a problem with my lower back!!! Who would have thought? He talked about bulging discs. He said the X-Rays of my joints told him there was a presence of arthritis but that was not the course of motion stiffness. He told me the joints looked pretty good.

He gave me some exercises to do twice a day and come back in 3 weeks. The exercises are to bend my lower back outwards and hold it for seconds then repeat 10 times.....too easy.....there must be something more?

He explained my problems and illustrated with some models of the joints involved
Time will tell. But I think he is on the right track
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

I went to see my GP about foot pain (mainly in my right foot) and being a diabetic he sent me to a neurologist who checked my lower leg and foot nerves - strapped electrodes on and apply short pulses of 240V - VERY painful indeed.
"Nope" he says " . . .feet are good must be your back" so off for a CT scan of my lower back. Results came back, "some spinal joint deterioration, but lots of black spots on the Lymph nodes recommend urgent check for lymphoma or sarcoidosis"!

Turns out I have sarcoidosis - have had it for almost 5 years now and it is being treated with Cortisone and Hydroxychloroquine (Trump's fave COVID Drug). Usually sarcoidosis is restricted to nodes in one or a few organs, or in one area like the chest but I'm one of the 2% of Sarcoidosis patients that have had it in every lymph node in the body (5-600). It appears to be on the decline which is consistent with slight

Back to the foot pain - turns out it was my knees. I was adapting my walking to reduce knee pain but that skewed my ankles and hips and cause foot pain. Eventually I could barely walk, GPS sent me for X-rays and said maybe a knee replacement? He didn't sound convincing enough for me. I went to a physio who sorted it out - not completely because I do have worn out knees butte taught me how to build up surrounding muscles to provide support for my knees.

    Hello Rod

    I can recommend meditation.
On a daily basis meditation can be of great benefit for the mind and body. Obviously keep seeing your doctor and continue with any medical advise.
Combined with quality natural, healthy, organic food and adequate exercise meditation can be a great help.
I have reduced my high blood pressure and reduced my arthritis and never felt better.
You may find someone local to you than can help you with meditation.

    Wishing you well
    Michael

I stayed with a family once, and the grandfather lived with them. He was 90 years old and was a brilliant concert pianist by profession. He took shark cartilage tablets and he could still play the piano like a 15 year old, they work well.

It's really hard to work out what is going on with shark cartilage.
The National Institutes of Health data base has hundred so f references to studies of Shark cartilage with mixed results.

In a 2015 study on the use of shark cartilage they found . . . .
" . . . . evidence of significant immunological reactivity of components of commercial SC supplement, which could pose a potential health risk for consumers, particularly those with underlying inflammatory disease such as irritable bowel syndrome and arthritis"

In another study, they found "
Shark cartilage contains a substance that strongly inhibits the growth of new blood vessels toward solid tumors, thereby restricting tumor growth."
