    The saga continues ...

    My client loved the coffee tables and entertainment unit. He has now asked for two bedside tables. Once he saw the coffee tables he changed the design and asked me to make the bedsides in camphor laurel using a design that is essentially a larger version of the small coffee tables, but with a drawer rather than a sliding top.

    Legs got done today. Everything apart from the legs will be book-leafed veneers over lipped MDF, because I refuse to pay $6,500 per cube and need to somehow build these units using what little camphor laurel remains in the shed.

    Progress ... first shot is assembly of carcass. Web frames are a mix of cedar and camphor laurel. All joinery is floating tenons, except for drawers.

    Next shot is of a top and a drawer front in the vacuum press. All panels are 2 mm veneers over lipped MDF.
