Please explain. It is obviously $131 better quality than Festool.

Ummmmm, 7.5 times the price of the top of the line chuck made in Aus? Found this recently while searching for a 4 jaw chuck for my metal lathe.

I think its just sellers trying it on. The odd sucker comes along now and then or they would not bother still doing it. Say you have a heap of chucks to sell. Try an ad at a silly price under one seller name and perhaps get a few bites and sell the bulk under another name at a regular price. Could pump up the profit margin every time they get a sale. You could call it a sucker margin.
Regards
John

Sometimes when they don't have stock they Jack the price right up. No one buys at the inflated price. Then lower price again when have stock.
The listing remains, preserving the X sold etc and don't need to relist.
Also, typos.

And it's not at the normal retail outlet.

I think they have just accidently put the decimal point in the wrong spot because if you look at the 3 that have been sold they sold for $79.00, or they have done what pippin88 said.

There is an ebay seller not too far from me who pollutes the Festool listings with everything they make for only 20% more than retail. I sometimes want to create a new user id, select buy it now on a hundred things then engage him in months of foolishness before voiding the sales.
It's all part of the service here at The House of Pain™
