so realistically all jokes aside (at this stage) what is a reflection box.
When I was at school we were told to sit in the corner, actually there were 2 chairs in the corner, mine and everbody elses.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

I'm principle it is a big letter box, where the kids at her school can drop messages and thoughts in. Sort of reflections on what is going on with them. Today is anti-bullying day.
Here it is done just in time. Featuring two writing shelves at different heights and a frame at the front. The frame my wife wanted so they could put dedicate it for different purposes / topics.
First pic is already delivered and set up. The second was still at home.

great idea, well done
how many alarm bells do the kids set off with their comments?
We used to have the same thing when I was a primary school way back then, some of us told amazing stories (lies) about other kids and things going on in their homes, was fun until the truth came out and then did we get the 'stand in the corner'.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

Somehow the Easter bunny (aka my daughter) thought that dog holes can also serve as egg holder [emoji6]
Does that make them now egg holes?

Nope, they're already gone [emoji6]
The survival rate of any chocolate based food within a 500m radius from me is towards zero.
Unless you do some despicable like an avocado chocolate mousse. I am still traumatised from that....
Anyway, my kids have long figured out, that first the Easter bunny hides the eggs. Then they find them, only to hide them again so that I cannot find them [emoji12]

Hi CK. You are probably one of the few people who, like me, use the 2M rule. I love them but are finding them harder to source. Bought some cheap ones online and they actually broke (normally the numbers/lines rub off and that's why I stop using them). Had to order some in through my local tool shop, Festool branded. Not bad and they even have the angle markings under the 1st fold. Happy Easter to you.

I grew up with them. As a matter of fact I never used a measuring tape until I came to Australia. For me they are the natural tool to use and I have even a smaller version just 1m long. I have that already for 30 years.
In Germany it is the standard to use the 2M ruler. Fun fact though, in German we call them "Zollstock". Directly translated it is " inch stick". But I have never seen one with imperial scale. Only metric! [emoji3]
The ones you had must have been really cheap. I never had the markings rub off. And we only broke some as kids. Me and my brother used to twist them into shape of swords and then fought with them.....[emoji6]

Thanks CK. Being in centimetres, I always assumed a European build. The other fun fact is that they fit better in the rule pockets of my various work shorts. I was raised with the 1M rule but switched a long time ago. BMI made a lot of the ones I have used and the markings are only going to stay on as long as the paint underneath them does. My rules get used every day so I accept they will be a "consumable".

Well its been about five weeks since I’ve had some serious
Tool fun,
Yesterday we sold the family home, so for the last five weeks I’ve had most of my Toy zone safely packed way due, too having the home open for inspections.
An note wanting some of my toys, too end up in someone’s else’s hands[emoji15].
So today I’ve been in the thick of it,like a Pig in mud, an the little Squirrel Plane is happily back on the bench being worked on Ya.
One question tho, i needed a M4 tap, so off went too Total tools, about a five minute drive away, but for some reason I ended up with more than a M4 tap,an a bill that was quite a bit more than a Couple off drive through Coffees ???.
I don’t understand how that happens, because its not the first time Sally has had that funny low brow look on her face[emoji851].
Cheers Matt.

An easy hand tool project (if you discount the milling of timber on jointer and planer). Followed a Paul Sellers plan for the most part, angled mortise and tenons to connect the legs to stretchers, and a half lap joint to attached the two stretchers together. Slightly curved bevel to the top (sorry for the terrible photo). Roundovers to the outside of the legs but the insides have been left alone, I think it makes for a nice contrast. Two coats of Osmo and buffed with Ubeaut traditional wax. The legs are blackwood and the top is $5 red oak disk from Bunnings.
I saw the disks for $5 and couldn't walk past. Apart from having to dig through the pile to find the ones with reasonable grain and color match, how can you not pick up at least one for less than the price of a length of hardwood moulding? I've got a couple of them and they are flat and seem to be glued together well.

Overall happy with the result. I think a bit more splay on the legs would look better and I think tapering them across their thickness would be subtle but add more interest as well.
And as a bonus, more Bunnings wood for the next project. Pine shorts from Brazil. The growth rings are like a mile apart and they are plenty of knots, but the lengths were surprisingly straight and the faces mostly perpendicular.
