Where does this DJ sit regarding age, it seems older than the 1920's according to what Wadkin had to say to the owners enquiry about getting new rubbers.

Matty there seems to be a Darlec loose in Aus thanks to the devious disguising of another brand bandsaw as a Wadkin

Comparisons.
Matty sent me some more photos of the Preston/Wadkin FF.
Here are a few comparison pictures. In each case 36" 'Wadkin' (left), 30" Preston (right):
Both machines with lower cabinet doors open.

The left hand side of the frame casting looks the same for both 36" and 30" machines. The length of arm, and the position/location of the table have to be different, surely?
Rear of both cabinets showing "Preston Woodworking Machinery..." lettering.

Front of upper arms showing "Preston" lettering.
FF-4.jpg 132-4.jpg
Edge of table showing serial numbers.
FF-5.jpg 132-5.jpeg
"HR 1778 SERIAL 1089" (36") and "SERIAL 2156" (30").

Here we go, the appropriate page from Wadkin's test register - hot off the press (arrived by email 20 minutes ago). Tested at the Wadkin works on 18th July, 1923.
Note that the machine number is DJ 361 (not 301).
