Or make your own out of plywood and PVC.
I made some similar to the ones from Jay Bates (see here) but probably closer to those from the WoodKnight (see here), and they've been working great.

Rocking blast gates are simple to make, can't clog and somewhere in this forum Bob spplied all the information for them. The big plus is they can with a bit of organisation be operated remotely by cords and pulleys.
Have a look here Blast gate gallery (woodworkforums.com)

I assume this company is run by someone on this forum.
They look awesome, but way more that what I need at present.
OK, so now I'm super keen to make rocking gates.
That totally looks like my scene.
I'll get into some CAD modelling tonight I reckon.
My partner is always teasing that I can't ever just use something available off the shelf... "You have to go custom, don't you mate?"
Looks like I'll be maintaining form throughout my ducting installation.
These are rad too. I assume the hole in the sliding panel is the self cleaning bit.
That makes a lot of sense.
In other news; I asked a member named Ben for details on the cast aluminium gates he used.
They're from the US but they'll ship to Australia.
https://blastgateco.com/Cast-Aluminu...last-Gates.php
I got a quote for the 7" version which works nicely with 150mm DWV.
Came in at USD 49.96 - not that bad if you've got limited shed time but can wait for shipping.
Pretty sure I'll be making mine, though.
Cheers guys.

I'm Alive!
Hey fellas - yep, I'm alive.
I haven't yet completed the full run of ducting, but the section I've done is working well considering how funky the branches needed to be to wiggle through my small shop.
Carbatec said the impeller of this unit is 14.5".
I made a few mods which I can get photos of if you're interested - just let me know.
Plans to complete the rest of the ducting in the coming months.
Been busy trying to fit a house into an urban industrial shed.
Cheerio,
Kristen.

DC build photos to date
I know a few loopholes within the NCC / Town Plan, so I managed to get my Shed/House through council all legit like.
Now I can play on my table saw / drum kit until the wee hours with only my lady friend being inconvenienced.
I'll make a few separate posts for the DC build photos.

PVC Duct with 90° Rotation
Here's the component I made by cutting the original section of duct between the impeller cowl (terminology?) and the wye junction.
I heated the PVC with a chef's burner and knocked the plywood jig in, then reheated and knocked in the spacers.
Worked really well.

Bell Mouth Port for Impeller
Here's the bell mouth port I made to replace the flange that came with the unit.
I laminated a few bits of MDF after profiling them with my trimmer.
Then I used a spoke shave to profile, sanded smooth and painted.

Wall Mounted DC with Terrible Branches and Rad Blast Gates
And here's the unit mounted to the wall.
Yet to make the shared overhead duct for the router / table saw.
Yet to make the bench / hood for the drop saw.
The branch the runs to the underside of the router table works great.
Catches everything that goes down there.
The long hose in the last image fits to my benchtop jointer and thicknesser and works perfectly.
I think this is due to them both having in-built turbines, not because of my ducting skills.

Wow, you have been busy. Nice work on shaping that pvc and those bellmouth mods to your blower. Thanks for the pics, giving us all a good perv. Crazy how we start out just wanting to make some stuff with timber, next minute, we're swallowed into the dust extraction rabbit hole.
I was helping a mate make sense of dust extraction this week, he was looking at the various 3HP units. We both asked the various retailers about their impeller size, and that Carbatec model we were told was 12inch.
I noticed a few places where it looks like youve reduced duct size from the main trunk: the table saw and router table; drill press and the nearby drop saw. Wondering if thats because you want to use those tool combos frequently, and avoid blast gate switching? Running the 6 inch all way to each (and using more blast gates) would get you more cfm, I would have thought. Or you could otherwise get three 4inch lines from your 6inch supply line. But im basing this on theory, not practice.

Edit: looking at your pics again, I do see your 3rd wye ready for the overhead table saw, similar spare line over at the DP, so i get it now.
