Well when the rains stop up there and the mud dries out you will no longer stick to it

I must admit though a mud and shavings floor when dry would look good

anne-maria, on past form you will not need to think for long before hitting on a solution.

I do not want to upset Calm!, but you are an amazing woman.

As for cleaning up, I thought sheds were supposed to be as is yours now, traditionally!.

Even if you tag a piece of plastic, (mine came from an ice cream container) to the vertical yellow post, it would be a help.

Just so that at least you are not unthinkingly going to put your left hand absent-mindedly into the pulleys while you reach for the switch or something

Was thinking of making a kinda strip of boards conected by hinges at the apropriate places attached at the back. They will tort of lift up and out of the way, but easily enough to put back so they actually do their job. Now all I have to do is get around toit. How about we declare July "Round Toit" month, so we can all get those stupid little jobs done.

That is a truly brilliant idea - even a day would be cool. We could declare a national public holiday called "Round Toit Day", when we didn't have to go to work and have a chance to have a crack at starting all of those jobs we have only thought about. (note I only said 'start'...)

While I'm DEFINITELY not one of the safety nazis, this is one I would suggest doesn't wait for a "tuit" what ever shape.

I went that way for a year or so, until I had a near miss, which focussed my attention something fierce.

Particularly when you are turning, you can get caught up in the experience, (don't happen on the TS) and do things without thinking.

Just for Alistair, the lathe now has a hood on the pulleys. It had to go to lathe hospital cos the bearings had a little play in them. So that nice man down near the beach made it all nice and straight and smooooooth and everything. Then topped it off with a little hat. Also got a shelf so that all (Most? ) of the stuff off the floor is now not on the floor. The bench is in the middle of the space and I can see the view while I'm working. And the light is better. (Like my nice new yellow vac? ) (And the shed does NOT look purple. )
