Advice for Miter Saw?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and actually I'm new to the woodworking as well - have not started any projects yet but would like to have it as a hobby while being at home.

I'm planning to do some (maybe 8 - 10 at the moment, but may do a few more in the future) photo frames for needle arts.
Meanwhile, I would like to do a narrow hallway table like thisAttachment 436428,
and maybe a book-shelf for books&arts, or other small work for home only. I would not need to move the saw to somewhere else, may be only inside the garage or backyard shelter.

The above hallway table, I'm thinking to use 90x90 timber for the 'Z' side support and need to cut 15 degrees.

Now, I wonder which CMS (or SCMS) i should buy. I have checked Bunnings and Tradetool websites.

Originally, I was thinking Bosch PCM 1800 SD (https://www.bunnings.com.au/bosch-18...e-saw_p6200251), because I trusted Bosch brand before, but read very bad comments from Product Review website on this product;

Then, I searched Makita LS1017L (https://www.bunnings.com.au/makita-1...e-saw_p6240084) and LS1018L (https://www.tradetools.com/product-r...th-laser-1430w)
But, there are some bad comments on these two Makita SCMS too and those guys who gave bad comments recommend Hitachi on their posts.

So, I searched Hitachi on Trade tools and found 3 Models, 10"CMS, 10"SCMS and 8"SCMS, however the price is much higher than other brands. Except for the cut accurate and budget, I wonder if my planed 15 degrees on 90x90 pine timber could be easily achieved.

As it would be only a hobby and i dont use the tools too often (because i'm working overseas), will be it worthy for me to buy an expensive SCMS? As my time at home working the project is limited, I do hope the tools could get what i need to cut without too much efforts.

I have the Bosch PCM 1800 SD, currently loaned out to a friend. Between the two of us, we've built planter boxes, shelving, a deck, and a few other things. For the price, it is a decent saw. Mine was cutting 90 degrees to the fence out of the box. When doing any angled cuts, I always double checked the set angle, didn't rely on the scale on the unit. I didn't have issues with saw 'losing' settings during use so cuts were definitely repeatable. The depth stop is a little flimsy but I haven't used it too much and so far it's intact. The laser is of limited use and difficult to get calibrated correctly to match the saw blade so I don't really use it. I have upgraded the blade to a Diablo from Bunnings and it makes a world of difference, the stock blade left very rough cuts. Dust collection is terrible, but that's an issue with pretty much all of these saws. Overall I don't have any major complaints and not in a rush to replace it.

Hello Bing Bne. I make no claim to being a trade qualified carpenter/wood worker but i chose to buy the Aussie built Swarts. Firstly, forget the Renegade. It is cheap for a reason.
Do you really need a scms? Most non sliding 10" saws should cut 90mm deep by about 140mm wide at 90°. The width will reduce as you turn the saw around on an angle.
I can't comment on any of the saws that you have linked to, as I don't own any of them, although of the 4 saws that I own, the quality has been comparable with the price.

I decided to use a Miter Box with hand saw for the photo frame, will give it a go and see how it's bad; then will see if i need Miter Saw.
For the attached hallway table, I give up it at the moment as the 15^ exact cut and assembly could be a big challenge for me; i will use another design (all 90 degrees joint).
I will buy a Router and Router table from Bunnings, and a good quality 90 degrees clamps, a few F or G Clamps...

I have a stanley scms, picked up from masters death bed. To my eye, it compared favourably with the others around. Still available from mitre 10.
