Here we go...
Making progress with the Gertsner style tool chest. I had some old white oak which I salvaged from an old cabinet which I'm using. Unfortunately as I was cutting it up after layout I realised that the boards were joined throughout the piece with splines. This meant I had to abandon the original idea I had to do dovetails and do rabbet joints instead. Anyway it will be fine as I plan to put the metal corner pieces on it (still have to source some from somewhere [emoji848]).
All the pieces except the drawer sides are millled up. Need to get some offcut boards for the drawer sides, make the drawers and do the timber runners before gluing it all up. Also need to source some decent hinges, a lock, figure out the brass pins for the front, some felt for the interior, the arbitrary little mirror and some handles. I think that's that for now [emoji16]. Oh yes, I might try and carve/engrave a brass plague for it on my x-carve, I'll see how it goes.
Will add some photos as I make progress.
Hope you enjoy.
Cheers
