Triton Router Mounting Plate
Hi, I recently bought a second hand RTA300 Router Table and now looking to update it from the current Ryobi Router to a new Triton 1400W model I have just bought. The current sub-plate on the table appears to be a generic type with two spring loaded fingers attaching the router base and two semi-circle raised locator fittings attaching directly to the main mounting plate. It appears that what I need is a dedicated plate RTA423 as the current generic plate creates a problem with the router handle jamming on the side of the table support. The only place I can see where the plate is available is the UK but postage costs are prohibitive. Can anyone assist with advice where to get the part, or how to fit the Triton router to the existing plate. Thanks

Triton Router Mounting Plate
Thanks again to all for the input here. Chrism3 is correct re the universal clamping system. For everyone's info I have attached a pic of how my Triton Router is now mounted on that. Note that I have had to put one of the fingers into the moulding on the base plate intended for the dust extraction hose, otherwise any other position puts the router handles in a position which are fouled by the side panel of the router table. Not really a problem as I probably wouldn't have used it as an extraction point anyway.
For the record, according to Toolssparesonline photos the sub-plate alone is RTA419 and the kit is RTA423 with screws and clips etc. Interesting though that the latter, with more stuff is slightly cheaper than the bare sub-plate. As mentioned previously the prices are reasonable until you add the shipping costs to Oz..
Hope this clarifies for all and thanks yet again for all the input and suggestions here. I continue to be amazed with the amount of quality assistance available on this site.http://d1r5wj36adg1sk.cloudfront.net...lies/smile.gif
