Hoping to find the magic again
Hi, everyone
My name is Ash and I live in the 'burbs of Brisbane's northside (Albany Creek). Thirty five years ago at school I loved woodwork class (thanks, Mr Tor) and was pretty good at it too - I still have a side table that (like it's owner) looks like an antique :) My job has me working with computers and in meetings all day but what I really want is to smell sawdust again and relive that experience where you nail a good dovetail.
My retirement plan (6 years away) was to put together a workshop and chase the glory days of high school woodworking class but my wife told me I was mad not to start now (thanks, Wifey). I'm starting to slowly put together some good quality gear in the garage that I hope will give me decades of good service and I'm at the point where I need to connect with other like minds to get some inspiration. Thank you Woodwork Forums!
There seems to be SO much information in the forums and I'll be looking to chase down some project ideas, tips and, perhaps, opportunities to meet up with others in Brisbane.
