Hardest Timber in Tasmania
Hi ya'll I was wondering what the hardest timber that grows in Tasmania is ?
Blackwood has a density of around 650, i am looking to see if anything comes up around 900 or higher.
I hear that Grey Ironbark (eucalyptus Paniculata) grows down that way, its up around 1095 on the mainland and I wonder if the Tassie variety is similar.
Most of the 'Tassie Oak' species are just under 650 and Bluegum is around 720..
I wonder what the density of Horizontal scrub is..?
Does anyone know more about this?
thanks
john
