Router Table Switch - Power Strip?
I have the Triton TRA001 2400W router, for which I recently built a custom router table. As I don't have fancy safety switch, I was thinking an economical alternative might be to use a cheap power strip with a switch and I'm wondering if this is a safe idea.
The router is listed as 2400 watts and 240v and the Arlec branded power strip I have says max loading 10A 2400W. If nothing else were plugged into the switch, do I risk overloading the power strip or killing my router?
Anyone know where I can find the Australian/240v equivalent to the US products like this? Safety Power Tool Switch - Rockler Woodworking Tools ...at a reasonable price? Would it be simple to build one with a light switch (heavy duty?) and a power outlet?
