Lookin' for a good old "Cone"-style Puller...

Dear Gents,

Don't s'pose anyone's seen a good old 3-Arm "Cone"-type Puller (like in the photo below) for sale anywhere around the traps? They're better than your average Puller because not only can you reverse them for "internal"-style pulling, but in either external or internal configuration, the knurled-cone exerts a positive pressure (by way of leverage) on the jaws.

Very hard things to come by now, unfortunately :(. If you've had a recent Positive Sighting of one, the brand name or the retailer's name would be fantastic...

Yep, have one of them in a Sykes & Pickavant set, bought that set and a bearing puller set off Blackwoods. Cost $124 back in the early 80's per set.

Try Blackwoods or Conventrys.

The only Time I have seen something like that is on a Slide Hammer. DD - I did have peek through the Blackwoods website, but at first glance none of their range seemed reversible. Having said that, I will have a more detailed look into whether those "concentric"-series Sykes-Pickavant's are reversible (but they'd be very ex'y, cos' they're still made in England I believe...)

Steran - those links you've posted to are of a unit in Stanley's "Proto" range. It would be ideal, but the whole range appears to be US-only, and very ex'y into the bargain. I guess it couldn't hurt, though, to send Stanley (or whoever the heck they are nowadays) an email regarding whether anyone over here is flogging them...

I have a big one of these I think I got from Cash Converters for about $60.00. Brilliant and you can't have it. :U
