Massive table -- can it be refinished?
Hello,
We have a 6' x 6' table that was super glossy and interesting textures and features (I'm not sure how to describe -- see photos). Over the years, it's become scratched and dull in some areas. I think we scrubbed at it too hard. We use it as the kitchen table and expect it to get dinged up, but thttps://drive.google.com/file/d/16RP...ew?usp=sharinghttps://drive.google.com/file/d/197l...usp=drive_linkhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1Qyd...usp=drive_linkhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1jKp...usp=drive_linkhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1Gv4...usp=drive_linkhttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1xQp...usp=drive_linkhe current look is a mess. Perhaps we have been too aggressive, but it doesn't seem to stand up to the wear and tear that a kitchen table receives -- at least, not in my house!. I'm wondering if it's possible to refinish only the top surface and leave the rest as-is? But I'm not sure how to strip it, or what would happen to all the textures and coloration the manufacturer built into it. Also not sure if it's something I could take on (preferable), or if I need professional help/equipment.
