Well done on the sculpture! As to the other, a photo of the end grain would be helpful.

As suggested here are the end grain images, I imagine the initials might be interpreted as "Pacific Maple .... " I don't know what the remainder of the label means?
Has anyone used this timber before? Here is a further description Pacific Maple | The Wood Database (Hardwood) I note it may cause "skin and respiratory irritation"

Blank may be an indicator that's it's for turning a plate or platter. Even a shallow bowl, depending on the thickness. Looks like it will have a nice grain pattern and color when finished.
Happy to see I'm not the only one that likes abstract forms :2tsup:. Might even consider showing some of mine on here if this keeps up :shrug:
