GROUP BUY OF LIOGIER FILES, Rasps can be ordered as well
There is a recent review of these files here. The summary is that these files represent excellent value for money.
The range is quite extensive with:
- 173 Engineer’s files
- 46 Milled Files
- 45 Saw Sharpening files
- 66 Needle Files
I’ll be placing an order for Files and Rasps next week (around 23rd Nov) but I’ll also place a follow up order (particularly for Files) around mid December. Rasps take up to six weeks to produce (always to order) but Files have a much quicker lead time. Hence they can be delayed a little so that the shipment is combined.
Xmas may get in the road of the lead time, but the effect on production in Europe is nowhere near as profound as it is here (their summer holidays are in August – complete shutdown).
The Liogier Website makes almost no mention of the files, because the emphasis is on the rasps.
I have attached a separate pricelist for each, and they are based on the effective exchange rate of Friday 16th Nov, and of course will fluctuate as the exchange rate does. I have also attached the pricelists in pdf form, but they are not dynamic. You can just PM or email a list of what you would like. In the spreadsheets there is a separate tab for the Order Form.
Note that the prices include freight, but not domestic postage.
If you don’t know my email address then send me an email through the forum, I shall respond, and then you can send through your completed spreadsheet. Or PM your email addy to me.
To learn more about the rasps just do a search on “Liogier” as there are a few different threads covering different aspects.
Just to be clear, the Rasps are hand cut, and the Files are machine cut.
Finally, and by way of interest, we have some Floats under development by Liogier. The first prototype has been through four experienced sets of hands, and was a complete success. A small range should be available somewhere around March – after the next round of tests, and after a range has been decided upon.
This thread has received approval from Admin, and will be closed. General discussion of the files can be posted in the review. If you have questions about the Group Buy or how it functions just PM them to me.
Cheers
Brett
