Learnt in 2012
I'm hoping this is a good idea.
Thinking back, I've learnt a lot this year - I'm pretty happy with the things I have tried and learnt and come across. So I thought I could write down some stuff about it.
For one thing - I guess I can't avoid classification as a saw -collector- now :C
Even attempting to plead the under-3-digits amendment is looking pretty dodgy.
I got my saws together in a very satisfying order just recently - kind of a mental solidification -
like a successful Tetris move. :U
Or not. :(
They now make great sense together as a group, so I thought I could put down some useful info into the blog format about identification and appreciation.
I also made a start into learning about carving and sharpening carving chisels - something that was a long-term goal at the start of the year. Grinding and freehanding are also much more comfortable these days.
Still yet to complete are the outdoor bench and the timber racking.
It'd be great to hear what others have taken on-board this year, and planning (planing? :) ) for next year.
Cheers,
Paul

Paul,
Yeah...never too old to learn and not young enough now to know everything.
What have I learnt...
Restoration of old planes...there is always more than one way. BTW the the 'Old Planes Home' is getting larger.
What have I done this year...
Done more in the way of renovations (family jobs) and deck building (family once again)
Study/computer desks for the kids. Did my daughter a bed and bedside tables earlier.
Started a new work bench (not yet finished)
About to start another side bench (sharpening work area.. mainly for planes and chisels)
What have I go to do next year .....
Get more shed time (got to clean it up though)
