Nice work, Derek. This is the review I needed a couple of years ago when I first started looking into block planes. Although you start off talking about Everyman who can't afford a low angle and high angle block planes and then review a HNT Gordon! :oo:
Maybe I'll request one for Fathers Day.
Had a think about this and realised I wouldn't blink at spending $200 on a power tool, so maybe $210 for the plane with a HSS blade is very good value.
Glad to see the reviews starting
Derek, did you still want my old 1897 low angle stanley (number 60 I think) for the next batch? If so drop me an email. I am in Pemberton on camp and will be back Friday if you want to arrange something.
Cheers,
Mike
Hi Mike
Thanks for the offer. Later, not now. I have had too much on my plate all this year and am only now getting to the reviews.
Enjoy Pemberton. Hug a Karri tree for me.

No worries mate, hugged a few Karris and a few Tingles and Jarrahs.
Had a poke around the woodcraft gallery and wished I did not have 35 children tailing along behind me all week so I could see more galleries.
Hi Derek,
I think you need a wider angle lens, one long line of block planes there. Trust you not to do a review by halves. Should keep you busy for a while.
Will be a very handy list of reviews when done. Well done.
Thanks for the link and all the effort to come.
Cheers,
Pops
Derek,
I notice that the Orange Block Plane makes it into the photo on the compendium page, yet the review of it sits separate on your website...
Now as a psychologist you should be the first to know how being excluded from one's peer could affect a young block plane.
Shouldn't you include him in with others?
