Building an entertainment center from start to finish
G'day all. I would like to share one of my recent projects with all of you. It was nearly to big to build on my Verandah. I had to slide it out the window and back in to turn the blasted thing around.:U

Doing a shop drawing always seems to help me a lot. Easier to erase a pencil line than to re cut a mistake in the shop. And makes material take offs easy to figure.

I like to build all the drawers first and get them out of the way. They take up a lot of space in such a tiny shop. 2.4 x 11.6 meter verandah. Hardly enough room to sling a cat.:U

Since my work table is only 1800 long i had to make a couple of matching saw horses to support my work. I must confess i am getting better at talking in metric. But i still have to think about it. Ill admit its much easier dealing in 10ths. But it hard to teach an old dog new tricks:B

Getting close to being ready for stain and sealer here.
Attachment 307725
Note the clamp fixture at the bottom of the upper unit. This was done to insure structural Integrity during handling while staining. It most likely wasn't needed. But i didn't want to take any chances. Now its time for my apprentice to get at it.:; Actually i did most of the staining. But she did a lot of the sanding after we applied the sealer. One coat of sealer and two coats of finish.
