Delta Router Shaper
I have been contemplating obtaining a router table for some time so I could use my router as a shaper, dado cutter etc. However I saw the Delta Router Shaper at Carbatec and as this has its own moter I thought it appeared very good for the price App $500.00.
has anybody used one and has anybody any advice?
Thanks

I don't have one but a mate has.
He gives it a fair bit of work too.
Would he buy it again, I'm not sure & I dont think he is either.
they are a compact neat & tidy little unit but they do have limitations.
the table top is a bit small & thus also is the fence, they have a reasonable amount of go but a BIG router would probably out do it.
Its wise to keep the dust extractuion up to them & clean under the base regularly as the motors are prone to getting particles in the brush holders causing them to jam & not contact properly.
They aren't real quiet.
Personaly I probably wouldn't but I don't do much router table type work.
I'd be inclined to go with another router & build a table or think about one of the small spindle moulders.
As I said my mate likes his a lot but would he buy again, who knows.

Delta router shaper
Thank you
there seems to be a very small supply of information on this machine and it seems to be a very good basic idea.

Frank,
If you check out the specs you will see they have a single speed of 10,000 rpm. If you intend to run smaller bits then this speed is too slow.

I wasn't aware they only ran at 10 000.
A small spindle moulder like the little jet or hafco is looking better if you don't need the high speed othewise back to an upsidedown router
