I bought myself a Proxon scroll saw a couple of moths ago.
This is my first effort with it. The running boards are the main or difficult pieces.
Got a long way to go but off to a good start.

Very Cool
Nice work. Hey what do you think of the Proxon and was it very pricey?
So far so good. German and so I figure quality wise its good and it is. Price wise I paid $419 AUD It certainly was the best value for money that I could find here in Oz. Not sure where you are located.

I'm in NZ. I currently use a ryobi scroll saw and hate it, I understand you get what you pay for but I still think build quality should be better. I'm not sure if anyone has seen a maker on you tube called DM Idea, but he has a scroll saw with the release leaver in the front at the top which releases at the top of the blade and leaves the bottom fixed, so much easier when you have a huge run of insides to do. Unfortunately he won't reply to my questions about the brand so I'm still in the dark.
It is a 22" Hegner. Here is a picture of him on it on Facebook.

Thanx Woodpixel...one day...
The Hegners are very well regarded from what I read. Ive not used one.
Ive an Excalibur 30" and its mighty. I dont have it strapped down yet, so it gets a bit of vibration. Once the heavy bench is built and dog holes put it, it wont be moving a nanometre!
I know it's not the same quality, but the Carbatec scroll saw has a similar arrangement for the blades.
Well done on your first effort looks good to me ,you will be surprised just what you can do on one of these saws all it takes as Woodpixel said is practice practice practice. Cheers Peter
